A Child Care Inspiration
At the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative, we have been working hard to partner with strong, community-focused organizations as we work toward our vision of More Children. Prepared for School. Prepared for Life. This year, we are proud to have partnered with Kids Can for their 2019 Can Do Luncheon. At the luncheon on April 18th of 2019, NECC will be presenting the first ever 2019 Kid's Can - Can Do Provider Award to one very deserving individual: Alexis Varoz Norval.
Alexis is a well-respected member of the Omaha community who has dedicated her life to providing safe, healthy, and stable learning environments for the children in her care. Working in the child care industry has been Alexis' passion for 16 years now. Her career kicked off in 2003 when she became an assistant teacher for KinderCare Learning Center, where she started in a toddler classroom. This is where she fell in love with the industry, and has since then remained a dedicated provider. While being a child care provider can make for a crazy schedule some days, one daily routine has always stood out as her favorite: Circle time. Singing, clapping, stomping, and sharing smiles is an impactful part of the day for both Alexis and the children. She builds incredible bonds with the children and families she cares for; bonds that will last a lifetime.
In the Fall of 2018, she joined NECC's CDA Credential course. A family member of hers had previously taken the course and raved about it, encouraging Alexis to sign up herself. She saw this as an opportunity to continue her education and professional development. Although she already had 15 years of experience under her belt, she still wanted more. This is just one example of her ongoing dedication to the child care industry.
When it comes to child care, Alexis is an inspiration to those in her community. Providing high-quality care is something she is passionate about, and she makes it a priority to go above and beyond expectations. She believes each and every person plays a role in our community, and her role is to provide the children in her care with the opportunity to learn and grow in a happy and healthy environment.
We are extremely lucky to have her as a part of our community. Her passion for the child care industry is beyond recognizable, and is what makes her so deserving of the 2019 Can Do Provider award.
