Essentials for Early Educators

Are you embarking on a fulfilling journey into the world of Early Childhood Education? If you are new to the field with limited educational experience, we invite you to join our transformative 6-week course designed exclusively for individuals within their first two years of employment at a child care center! This online training is offered at no cost to you, and upon completion, you will receive 12 state-approved in-service hours.

Mar. 2–Apr. 6 (Mondays)

This 6-week course is designed exclusively for individuals who are new to the field of early childhood and are in their first two years of working with children birth to five.

Participants will:

  • identify Nebraska’s child care licensing regulations
  • review the principles of child development
  • practice observation and documentation skills
  • identify positive guidance and active supervision skills essential for working in early childhood
  • describe the importance of child led play based learning in the classroom
  • examine professional and leadership opportunities in early childhood profession

This course was inspired by the Childcare Teachers Foundation Class through Lincoln Littles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you will receive 12 state-approved training hours at the conclusion of the course. 

We will cover a variety of foundational topics such as developmental milestones, social/emotional development, relationships with families and peers, safety and health considerations, and professionalism. 

We encourage learners to make EEE a priority and set aside those nights for class, but we do understand life happens. One excused absence is allowed, with make-up work assigned. 

EEE is designed for staff in child care centers. Unfortunately, at this time, family child care providers are not eligible to take EEE.

EEE is designed for early childhood educators who are new to the field, with less than 2 years of experience. Those who have more than 2 years of experience are not eligible to take EEE

We are so grateful you understand the importance of supporting your staff. Our program manager will work with you on pre- and post-program assessment. We also encourage you to ask your staff questions about their learning, be sure they are off work in time to participate in the evening classes, and celebrate their success when they complete the program.

Those who complete EEE receive high-quality, foundational training that sets them up for success in the classroom. They also receive 12 state-approved training hours, and they earn a $500 stipend upon successful completion of the program.
