About Our Mission
The Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative’s mission is to continue to build our reach and improve our ability to provide low-cost, high-quality business services to our clients, member centers, and communities. We strive to improve the quality of education across the state of Nebraska and promote the importance of early learning.
Studies have proven that the most significant brain development in a child’s life starts at birth. Furthermore, a child’s brain reaches 80 percent of its adult volume by the time the child enters preschool. During this period, the brain is more easily influenced than any other time in the child’s life. While children begin to learn at birth; the learning that takes place is the critical foundation that is built upon for a lifetime of learning, understanding, and growth. Thus, a child’s acquisition of this education rests in our hands.
Why we do what we do:
The child care industry has an ongoing struggle with workforce recruitment, retention, and compensation, and this struggle can often result in a lower-quality of care. It is our goal to help each and every member of the community overcome these hardships. We commit to partnering with programs that help young children grow up safe, healthy, and eager to learn.
The children and families we support are the reason we exist. These are the people that decide whether or not the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative’s mission and goals are met. Therefore, if our children are not succeeding and their families are not happy with the services they are receiving, the goals and mission of our organization are simply not achieved. By utilizing our highly-skilled resources and various tools like the Nebraska Early Childhood Exchange, we set out to accomplish these goals in hopes that we will one day provide every child in Nebraska with the education and opportunities they deserve.
