Strategic Plan

Through a collaborative process, NECC has defined three goals that will enable us to achieve four intended impacts:

Improved Access • Improved Sustainability • A Higher Quality, More Diverse Workforce

Through a collaborative planning process, we’ve identified a core set of strategic goals that will ensure we continue to achieve high-impact results for young children in need and have the resources to sustain and expand our work.

The following represent the specific strategic goals that will guide our work over the next three to five years:

Expand reach and impact in the early childhood education community to drive access and sustainability

With a focus on equity and elevating parent and provider voices, we will:

Ensure deep commitment to DEI internally and externally

A keystone of our strategic plan calls us to pay special attention to creating and modeling a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. To achieve this, we will:

  • Add a DEI-focused senior leader
  • Develop culturally responsive content for those we serve
  • Expand culturally and linguistically appropriate professional development, internally and externally
  • Promote hiring and retention practices with attention to DEI

Strengthen organizational capacity and improve sustainability

Finally, as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization, our strategic plan provides a path to:

  • Improve customer and brand experience
  • Increase leadership capabilities within and across teams
  • Increase staffing in key areas of the organization
  • Create a more balanced, diversified, and sustainable mix of revenue sources
