NECC Welcomes Four New Members to Board of Directors

Omaha, NE – The Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC), a leading statewide nonprofit addressing the diverse needs of the child care workforce and the families they serve, is proud to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors to support NECC’s vision of creating a future where early childhood comes first. 

“We’re thrilled to welcome four new members to our board in service of NECC’s vision and mission,” said Sarah Ann Kotchian, CEO of NECC. “We’ve worked to ensure our board brings diverse expertise that reflects the scope of our statewide work, and these new members are no exception.” 

With these incoming members, NECC’s board is represented by a variety of industries, including early childhood, finance, higher education, human rights and relations, and others. The new board members began their three-year terms in March and can serve a maximum of two terms. The four new members include: 

Joe Borghoff, JD

Vice President and Director of Trust Services at Security National Bank

Nicole Looper, M.Ed.

Director of Nelson Mandela Early Childhood

Laura Troshynski, JD, CExP

Senior Director, Business Owner Advisory Services at First National Bank of Omaha

Beth Tyler, CPA

Tax Partner, Hancock/Dana

“Our new members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will further enhance NECC’s ability to support Nebraska’s child care providers and the families they serve,” said Christian Espinosa Torres, Board Chair of NECC. “We are thrilled to welcome Joe, Nicole, Laura, and Beth to our board as we continue to deepen our impact across Nebraska.” 

Through the guidance of the board members, NECC will continue to create innovative programs that meet the evolving needs of child care providers, extend the reach of initiatives across all Nebraska counties, and offer tailored support to families and educators. The new members will also aid in strengthening NECC’s role as an advocacy and thought leader by helping the organization deliver practical solutions that improve early childhood education at the local, state, and national levels. 

Kotchian added, “I want to recognize Jesse Brickner, Andrea Jahn, Annemarie Marlier, and Dave Shrader, who have concluded their service as valued board members this past year. We are grateful for your support of NECC over the years, and we wish you nothing but the best.”
