Tell us about yourself!
I am a stay-at-home mom of two girls. My oldest, Jessica, is in middle school, and my youngest, Margaret, is in her second year of Head Start through Lincoln Public Schools. I love that I get the opportunity to be there for my girls every day. I am married to my high school sweetheart, John, and we will be celebrating 20 years together this Fall. I have two dogs, Marbles and Gandalf, who are the biggest sweethearts. My passion is making the world a better place through one action at a time. I love reading/listening to audiobooks and traveling. I love trying new teas and watching shows in the evening.
What made you want to become a Parent Ambassador?
Jess Parker told me I should look into it. It aligned with the fact that I am ready to take bigger, more proactive steps to ensure a better future for my children.
What do you see as the greatest need for your community?
More awareness of the programs currently available to help children as well as expanding ones that protect, educate, and help them.
What do you hope to accomplish during your Ambassadorship?
Making more meaningful connections, working towards a greater good. Bringing help to those that can’t advocate for themselves.
Who or what inspires you?
My children inspire me to make their world better. I’m also inspired by those that work tirelessly for justice for those that are tired of fighting for themselves.
