NEW PROGRAM – The Nest
NECC is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Healthy Rest, Happy Nest – a wellness program for child care providers (Licensed Family Child Care Programs, Center Directors, and Full-time Teachers in licensed facilities). Through a partnership with Best Care EAP and Alpaca, these providers will receive no-cost mental health counseling, legal and financial support, support care packages delivered straight to their door, and much more!
NAFCC Accreditation Support Program
NECC supports licensed family child care providers on their journey to national accreditation through the NAFCC Accreditation Support Program. National accreditation offers benefits such as higher earnings and enhanced quality and helps providers stand out as the best of the best! NECC provides study kit materials, access to grant funds, paid application fees, individual mentorship, and peer support through Community of Practice. Begin your accreditation journey today!
Essentials for Early Educators
Center-based child care providers who have been working in an Omaha center for less than two years can participate in NECC’s Essential for Early Educators course. This no-cost, beginner-level, 8-week course allows participants to earn 18 in-service hours while learning about the foundations of early childhood education. It serves as a stepping stone to a fulfilling career and offers ongoing professional development, leadership opportunities, networking, and support. Learn more and enroll in our next cohort.
New Courses on NECC’s Learning Library
Experience Stanford-level education without the campus!
The Stanford Center on Early Childhood and Find PD have partnered with NECC to present a series of brand-new educational courses in NECC’s Learning Library. These courses (Serve and Return Interactions, Responding in Developmentally Supportive Ways, and Extending Serve and Return Interactions) teach participants about early childhood development, offer a total of 4.5 in-service hours, and three co-branded certificates! Resource Center Bingo
NECC is excited to host a special Bingo game exclusively for child care providers who visit the Resource Center. Participate in fun tasks, win exciting prizes, and enter a grand prize drawing with each Bingo completed! The game takes place in NECC’s Resource Center, where tasks like “Use the Die-Cut” or “Use the Printer” are Bingo squares. This event runs through the end of 2025, so participants have plenty of time to visit NECC and win! View the Resource Center schedule.
Ongoing Head Start Program Application Support During Spring Application Days
This Spring, NECC is hosting Application Days every Tuesday until May 27th. Family Engagement Specialists are here to support families as they apply to one of NECC’s seven Early Head Start partnership programs in Omaha. Simply bring the correct documents to an Application Day, and NECC’s team will assist you through the application process. Learn more and stop by NECC during one of our Application Days!
CDA Renewal Amnesty Program
Anybody with a CDA credential that has expired (as far back as January 1, 2020) can take part in the 2025 CDA Renewal Amnesty program! This program allows you to renew your CDA without restarting the entire process. All applications must be submitted before July 31, 2025. Now is the time to renew your CDA!
