CDA Spotlight – Tammy Brown

Spotlight

As NECC’s Spring 2019 CDA Credential Course picks up speed, we are excited to continue highlighting some of the amazing individuals in this course. This week’s spotlight is on Tammy Brown!

She has been working in the early child care field for 18 years now. In addition to her extensive experience in the child care industry, Tammy also has two daughters of her own, ages 21 and 6. She has been described as an extremely patient person – an important quality to have in this industry!

NECC’s CDA Credential course is an exciting new adventure for Tammy. She is excited to learn more about child care and to better herself as a toddler teacher. She looks forward to receiving her certificate at the very end, and being able to say “I made it!”

Tammy describes her decision to work in early child care as the best she ever made. Having the opportunity to play such a large role in the lives of so many children is what makes it worthwhile for her. Thanks to providers like Tammy, parents do not have to worry about their children while at work, they can rest easy knowing their child is in good hands.

Tammy’s Favorite Child Care Memory

When asked about her most memorable experience in the early childhood education field, Tammy told a touching story about a child she had taken care of as a toddler and later bumped into the child as a high schooler – and they still remembered her! This truly shows the incredible impact you can have on a child – so much that they remember you fifteen years down the road!

NECC is lucky to have Tammy in our Spring CDA course, and we cannot thank her enough for her dedication and willingness to further her education.
